The Top 10 Green Tech Companies to Watch in 2023
As the world becomes more environmentally conscious, companies that are eco-friendly are likely to see increased success.
In an effort to identify the best of these companies, we looked at factors such as how innovative their technology is, how sustainable their practices are, and how community-minded they are.
Our research has led us to pick 10 green tech companies to watch in 2023:
1. Ecobee
Ecobee is a company that designs and manufactures intelligent, eco-friendly home products such as smart thermostats, smoke detectors and home energy monitors.
To date, Ecobee thermostats have delivered over 25 TWh of energy savings. That’s equivalent to taking all the homes in Los Angeles off the grid or 3.8 million cars off the road for a year.
Ecobee says on their website:
“By connecting millions of homes, we’re helping communities transition to cleaner energy and net-zero emissions.”
2. Veolia
The Veolia group has set itself an aim to be the benchmark company in the world for ecological transformation.
In 2021, the Veolia group supplied 79 million people with drinking water and 61 million people with wastewater service. It also produced nearly 48 million megawatt hours of energy and treated 48 million metric tons of waste.
3. InnoCentive

5. Bloom Energy
Bloom Energy is a company that manufactures hydrogen fuel cell microgrids.
Their independently-powered microgrids are designed to keep companies and organisations online 24/7 in the event of power outages and weather-related grid disruptions. The fuel cell microgrids offer clean, sustainable and resilient power.
6. Zipcar
Zipcar is the UK’s biggest and most popular car sharing club.
Members get 24/7 access to over 3,000 cars and vans close to where they live and work.

Starship Technologies is a company that manufactures self-driving delivery robots that are already in operation around the world.
A smartphone app enables customers to request parcels, groceries and food from stores to be delivered by the robots at the time and location of the customer’s choice. The smartphone app also enables customers to track the delivery robot’s journey.
8. Enel X
Enel X is a company that helps to design and support the smart city revolution.
The company’s approach embraces the entire city ecosystem – from lighting to infrastructure and from transportation to urban design.

9. SunPower
SunPower is a solar power company that has been headquartered in Silicon Valley since 1985.

10. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is a company that manufactures coffee using sustainable methods, such as organic farming and fair trade practices.
They support coffee farmers around the world through innovative programmes such as coffee tree planting, financing for small-scale coffee farmers, and helping to train over 2,500 coffee farmers in water-smart agricultural practices.
