The Covid-19 pandemic that started over a year ago has had a tremendous impact on our lives so far. We all got affected either by the disease or hardships it caused in everyday life. So did numerous businesses and industries. However, some sectors, such as the automotive, while suffering losses on one hand, also saw significant changes which led to positive results, especially for the environment.

New York-based startup Recycle Track Systems (RTS) is helping to revolutionize the way commercial waste is collected, sorted and recycled.
Dubbed the ‘Uber of trash’, RTS works with local, independent haulers by outfitting their vehicles with proprietary routing technology. This allows collection routes to be streamlined, as well as enabling vehicles and pickup sites to be kept in constant two-way communication via text and email.

And it still shocks me when I look back on that time.
Let me explain.
In those days, it was taken for granted that motorbikes, cars and trucks were all noisy and highly polluting vehicles.
Everywhere these vehicles went, they left a trail of dangerous pollutants that filled our town and cities. Even schools were caught up in this onslaught, with parents regularly idling their cars while waiting or dropping off their kids.

I had no idea that an Electric Vehicle Experience Centre was due to open in the UK until I saw a tweet from Go Ultra Low. Their tweet immediately captured my attention, as not only was the EV Experience Centre due to open the very next day, but it would be in Milton Keynes – less than 23 miles from my home in Aylesbury.

A few days ago, my brother sent me a link to a YouTube video that he described as “compelling and thought provoking”. Now, my brother is certainly not the type of person who’s prone to exaggeration or overstatement. So, naturally, his comments piqued my interest, and I quickly found the time to watch the one-hour video.
