Tony Seba’s Presentation on the Future of Energy and Transportation Will Blow You Away
A few days ago, my brother sent me a link to a YouTube video that he described as “compelling and thought provoking”. Now, my brother is certainly not the type of person who’s prone to exaggeration or overstatement. So, naturally, his comments piqued my interest, and I quickly found the time to watch the one-hour video.
What did I think?
I was mesmerised. And I think you will be too.
I’ve embedded the video into this post, but let me give you some brief details before you click play…
The presentation is by renowned Stanford University futurist Tony Seba, who’s spent decades studying and understanding technological disruptions. He’s also the author of several books, including: ‘Clean Disruption of Energy and Transportation: How Silicon Valley Will Make Oil, Nuclear, Natural Gas, Coal, Electric Utilities and Conventional Cars Obsolete by 2030’.
In his presentation, given to Clean Energy Action in Boulder, Colorado, Seba delivers an engaging and powerful glimpse into the very near future – where all cars are electric, and all energy comes from the sun. He explains why we’re on the verge of an energy and transportation ‘tipping point’ due to the convergence of several technologies such as self-driving cars and battery storage (e.g., Tesla Powerwall).
I won’t say anymore, as I’d much prefer that you heard the full story directly from Seba himself.
So, enjoy – and be inspired!
